Creative Thinking and Problem Solving

Every day, we face many situations and undergo various experiences! Some are significant and could have life changing consequences and many experiences are small and seem inconsequential. In today’s VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) environment, organizations rely on critical thinkers and creative thought leaders who can generate inventive solutions to everyday problems. Our program, Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving, enhances the knowledge and skills needed to leverage left-right brain thinking, analyse problems, spur creativity and implement innovative ideas in a practical way not only in our professional but personal lives as well. It takes inspiration from many time-tested widely used models like Edward De Bono’s Six Thinking Hats and thus leverages an amalgamation of the two concepts – Critical Thinking and Parallel Thinking which further enhances the problem solving and decision-making processes.

On one hand, Critical Thinking enables one to avoid common obstacles, tests an individual’s beliefs and assumptions and corrects distortions in the thought processes. It also builds confidence in assessing problems accurately, evaluating alternative solutions and anticipating likely risks. On the other hand, Parallel Thinking puts focus in multiple directions in a parallel manner leading to co-operative and co-ordinated thinking, exploration of a subject in parallel, with knowledge, facts, feelings etc.

This program will thus help participants learn new perspectives on problem identification and solutions. They will also explore the nature of their role in identifying and solving the problem, so as to bring the most value to the table.
